Continuity and improvements

Update with clarity.
Keep your context.

Understand update notices and keep FretUp up to date through your device's store.

When an update is optional.

The app may tell you that a newer version is available. You can open the store or choose “Not now” and keep using the installed version. The notice may return when you reopen the app or when another version is recommended.

When an update is required.

An older version may need an update before you can continue. In that case, the notice offers “Update in store” and “Check again”. The restriction depends on a valid remote configuration for your platform.

The store does not show the update yet?

Check that you are on the official FretUp page, using your usual store and account. Close and reopen the store, then check again in the app. Availability may vary by platform, device and region. If you still cannot update, contact support.

What if I am offline?

In versions with this control, a failed check or expired configuration preserves offline access. The notice does not download or install anything by itself: the store handles the download. The operator can remotely disable the restriction if there is a problem.

Will updating erase my progress?

App updates are designed to preserve local data. Do not uninstall the app or clear its data to update it. Your history is not automatically synced and may be lost if its storage is removed. Contact support before clearing anything.

Update control is available only in versions that include it. Earlier versions do not receive this feature automatically. Release notes are available in each store.
